A Quest Not Yet Realized
By Sylvya Stone

July 29, 2008
April, May, June
A quarter-turn of the moon
Under Montana’s star-studded skies
Flying luminescent balloons
Flashlight-like eyes
Smiles beaming
Discovering new heights
To pathways beyond
Over mountain’s might
Where kites dare not go
Messengers on call
When efforts fall
Redirecting ones path
To the one at hand
Searching silver streams
Of shimmering red, white, and blue
We are true
America’s People First.

Andy’s note: For another poem by Sylvya Stone, take a look near the end of the post titled, “Christopher Columbus, Discoverer of the Ohio State Capitol.”

Alias Sylvya Stone. I wrote this with special people in mind. As Advisor of People First of Livingston, MT, the words describe its members who are people with disabilities, better thought of as “people first.”
